What we have achieved together in the last 6 years
By the end of 2025, we had achieved our long-term goals for all projects, with the exception of the orphanage project.
This shows that we have achieved truly great things together since 2019!
Looking back over the last six years makes it clear how much has been achieved thanks to our joint commitment.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your trust, your support, and your commitment. Without your help, we would not have been able to achieve so much and bring about lasting change in Malawi.
News about the collaboration with YCD
As mentioned in the last newsletter, Francis has been appointed to Parliament and appointed Deputy Minister for Education and Technology. This new role presents great opportunities: We sincerely hope that it will initiate important developments at the political level in Malawi, particularly in the field of education.
At the same time, this position involves a considerable personal and time commitment. Francis now lives with his family in the capital, Lilongwe, where he carries out his new duties.
Due to these additional commitments, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Francis to continue managing existing projects to the usual high standard. Unfortunately, he does not wish to offer a successor for the management position, but instead intends to continue running YCD from Lilongwe with severely limited time resources.
This currently leaves us without the necessary guarantee for the professional and reliable collaboration we wish to assure our donors. For this reason, no new projects with YCD are being launched at this time. Only the orphan project is currently continuing.
New direction for the Pamodzi Tingathe club
What does this mean for us?
For the coming year, we will be realigning our project work. The board has been working intensively on this process since the beginning of the year. We have gained valuable experience in recent years. This solid foundation of knowledge now enables us to approach new projects consciously and with a future-oriented mindset.
We are looking ahead with motivation and are excited about the next phase of Patimalawi. We sincerely hope that you will continue to join us on this journey!

Help out at Afro-Pentecost
We are delighted to be back again this year at Afro-Pfingsten and to experience such a wonderful, vibrant event together. The personal exchange, the encounters, and the time spent together are a real highlight for us every year.

We cordially invite you to our annual barbecue! The Dättnau recreation area provides a wonderful setting for a relaxing family Sunday. A fantastic playground for children of all ages ensures that everyone, young and old, will have a great time.
This year brings many new developments, and together we're embarking on a new chapter. We're all the more excited to present our future plans to you at the summer festival!
Registration
Please register yourself, your family and friends by August 31, 2026 at the latest, stating the total number of people.
Directions
By car
Take the Töss motorway exit and follow the signs towards Brütten/Dättnau. Turn right at the Porsche Centre onto Dättnauerstrasse, then right again at the next intersection onto Hündlerstrasse.
After about 100 meters – directly in front of the sports field of the Laubegg schoolhouse – turn right into a small street and park there.
The recreational area is located at the rear of the school.
By public transport
From Winterthur HB take bus no. 5 towards Dättnau (15-minute intervals) to the stop «Freizeitanlage» (journey time approx. 15 minutes).
From there, it's about 100 meters up Hündlerstrasse. Turn right into a small street just before the Laubegg school's sports field. The recreation area is located at the rear of the school grounds.
