The organization "Pamodzi Tingathe – Together for Malawi" was founded on the initiative of Birgit Zurbrügg, who completed a three-month social mission in 2018/19 for the NGO "Youth Coalition for the Consolidation of Democracy" in the poorest part of Malawi. During this time, it became clear to her that she wanted to find a way to continue supporting the valuable work of Francis Folley, who founded this aid organization in 2012. Therefore, on September 1, 2019, we established the support association "Pamodzi Tingathe," also known as "Patimalawi."
Trust is the most important thing.
Birgit Zurbrügg personally met Francis Folley (President of YCD), worked closely with him and his team, and lived with them. She accompanied their commitment to the poor population in southern Malawi for three months. Read her mission report and the biography of the founder of the aid organization. Since then, the Patimalawi board has visited the projects in Malawi annually to strengthen cooperation and formulate shared goals. These visits are documented in the travel blogs.

Our goals
Together with our partner organization YCD, located in Nchalo in the Chikwawa district of Malawi, Patimalawi provides targeted economic individual assistance projects for the population in southern Malawi:

Guaranteeing school attendance for ALL children
(most important goal, prioritized above all others) -
Start-up support for small businesses

Counseling and support for prisoners in Chikwawa prison

Our position
We see ourselves as partners of YCD but are independent from this organization. Therefore, the donations are used in so-called service packages, for which a return service is expected. Under the menu item "Achievements," we will regularly publish feedback on how the donated money has been used. Birgit Zurbrügg maintains regular contact with Francis Folley regarding the finances.
