A success story from Malawi: Francis Folley enters parliament
We are delighted to share the wonderful news with you that Francis Folley was elected to the Malawian Parliament in September.

We were on tenterhooks for him and are absolutely thrilled that he succeeded. Leading up to the election, it was truly impressive to see how many people turned out to support him at his campaign events. YCD's projects are well-known throughout the south, and in particular, the success of Matsukambia Village and the farmland cultivated by the villagers themselves has made him a beacon of hope.

Furthermore, in October Francis was also elected Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technology.
He happily reported to us that the new appointments to the ministry have already resulted in the abolition of school fees throughout Malawi.

Indeed, it is currently difficult to contact Francis, as he is in Lilongwe working around the clock. Meanwhile, our projects continue. Japhet and Alan are leading the way and implementing all projects as planned.

This development represents a tremendous success for Patimalawi. Our support enabled Francis to take such a significant step. A milestone has been reached, a goal that has always been paramount: to truly make a difference and not just provide emergency aid. We wish him the best of luck in using his influence as he wishes and are eager to see what the future holds…

The important thing now is that our projects continue.

The people involved in our projects are relying on us. In the near future, we will be making budget adjustments in the areas of operating costs and the school project, so that we can reach even more people with your donations.
Thank you for your support and trust. Together we have achieved something great, and that makes us happy and proud.

Information from the board
The Patimalawi board is working on expanding permaculture.

We recognize that this form of cultivation requires extensive expertise and that significant hurdles must be overcome during implementation. Therefore, we are currently in contact with Biovision, a Swiss organization with a proven track record of success with permaculture worldwide.
Finally, two brief organizational matters:
-
We are looking for an auditor for our finances for the next fiscal year.
If you are interested in this position, please contact us at info@patimalawi.ch
